The lecture gives an overview of the basic challenges and principles of international management. It introduces culture-specific challenges in the international business environment and the tools with which to overcome them. In particular, the lecture will consider national culture as the cause of differences between nations, theories of international business, strategic management, organizational structure, and human resource management in multinational corporations among others. International Marketing (20616) - Dr. John Brennan

The students will acquire a basic knowledge of the fundamental concepts necessary to formulate and solve marketing management decision problems that have future uncertain outcomes. They will develop an appreciation for this stochastic environment within which these decisions are made. Students will learn how to conduct scenario analysis in terms of conditional probability problems.

Sustainable Enterprise Development (21279) - Prof. Dr. Olga Popova

The Module “SUSTAINABLE ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT” is focused on theoretical, methodical and practical knowledge in following keypoints:

- general theory of sustainable enterprise development and structural transformation of national economy;

- sustainable enterprises development diagnostics: principles, strengths, weaknesses, constraints;

- estimation of ecological quality of economic decisions;

- formations of an ecological portfolio;

- budgeting for sustainable development program.

It will be introduced the analyze of financial reports and financial statements of enterprises and companies (examples, experiences of an actual enterprises, companies, case study). The students gain a thorough understanding of the key principles and current good practices in sustainable enterprise development, including resources and waste management.

The seminar on “Cross-Cultural Management: Expatriates in Emerging Countries” is open to 12 participants who successfully completed the lecture “Introduction to International Management”. Students being interested in participating in the seminar are asked to apply for it during the week from April 4, 2016 (starting at midnight) to April 8, 2016 on E-Learning. Students on the main and on the waiting list are asked to attend the first seminar session on Thursday, April 21, 2016. Final participants will be appointed by drawing lots.

The Bachelor thesis seminar is required for all IBE, IM and BWL Bachelor students writing their theses at the department of International Management. In the first seminar session, we will provide you with a short general introduction to the guidelines for academic paper writing. All further sessions will be used for the presentations of the theses. Participation in all sessions is required.
