Checklist: How to apply for Bachelor thesis supervision
1. Hand in complete application files
Submit your application to Birgit Hummelt (G22E-105) or submit it via mail to birgit.hummelt@ovgu.de.
Any prior meeting to discuss thesis topics is not necessary.
2. Application files: Recent transcript of records and motivation letter
The motivation letter should not exceed 400 words and should address:
- Courses attended at the chair of IM and the grades achieved
- Reasons for choosing the chair of IM
- Your most preferred topic from the list of thesis topics and your motivation why you would like to work on the topic
List of thesis topics for the summer term 2018
- Diversity Management practices – curse or blessing
- The impact of the cultural background on the perception of diversity management
- Composition of diverse teams to foster innovation
- Innovations from emerging markets: a literature review
- Speed of internationalization: its antecedents and impact on firm performance
- The role of social class origin as an antecedent for individuals’ risk preferences
- The influence of national culture on the development of trust
- The role of leadership in organizational innovation
Kick-off meeting
For the kick-off meeting of the bachelor thesis colloquium, the course participants are asked to prepare a brief presentation on the most preferred thesis topic proposing a potential thesis title, research question, and structure. Each student has about 5 minutes to convince the audience of his or her idea. After listening to all presentations and a short break, the supervisors will assign the thesis topics.
