International Corporate Strategy (20114) - Prof. Dr. Susanne Enke/Angela Rother, M.Sc.

Within the lecture, students will get a notion of how to analyze the strategic positioning of firms, which will enable participants to formulate and implement strategies on a business or corporate level. Further contents of the lecture include the strategic management process, analysis of the internal and external environment and the assessment of a firm’s competitive advantage and performance.
The associated tutorial will apply the lecture content to real life cases. The lecture starts on October 17, 2017!

Entrepreneurial Marketing and Finance (21972) - Dr. David Bendig/Dr. Martin Heese (RWTH Aachen)

This course seeks to enable students with entrepreneurial ambitions to start their own company and/or to bring an entrepreneurial mindset into established firms. Upon completion, students should be able to explain the differences between established and entrepreneurial firms and are able to develop marketing concepts for young entrepreneurial firms. They should know different aspects and options of financing a start-up in theory and practice. The course has no formal prerequisites and the lecturers are open to students with different backgrounds and interests. In addition, you do not have to apply for a lecture.

Seminars - WT 2017/2018

 

Consulting in International Management (21921) - Prof. Dr. Susanne Enke/Andreas Reinhardt, M.Sc./Angela Rother, M.Sc.

This course will give 15 students the opportunity to develop a profound understanding of the challenges in management consulting for MNEs as well as the competencies to meet the requirements in this profession.

It features a series of blocked seminar days throughout the semester that provide an introduction to consulting, two days of interview training and project work as well as a presentation day at the office of an international consulting firm (in Berlin).

This seminar will require very active participation and intense team collaboration. In addition to participation in class, a case study seminar paper and presentation of the same in groups represent the requirements to participate successfully. Applicants are expected to show high interest in problem solving and should bring sound knowledge from the lecture “International Corporate Strategy”. Note that participation is mandatory on all blocked seminar days.
