The lecture gives an overview of the basic challenges and principles of international management. It introduces culture-specific challenges in the international business environment and the tools with which to overcome them. In particular, the lecture will consider national culture as the cause of differences between nations, theories of international business, strategic management, organizational structure, and human resource management in multinational corporations among others. Doing Business in Eastern Europe: The case of Ukraine (21158)

Prof. Elena Reshetnyak

The course is focused on social, economic, and cultural aspects of conducting business in Ukraine, with the emphasis on human capital, managerial practice, human resource management and organizational culture.

The course includes video-conferences with the participation of representatives of Ukrainian businesses and International companies, which currently conduct business in Ukraine; involvement in interaction with Ukrainian counterparts during group project work.

In this seminar, the students analyze a company and its potential to internationalize, will learn how to identify potential markets for internationalization, and develop an International Business Plan. For further details please see the module description. The registration for the course will be in the first session of this seminar.

Course registration will take place only online in LSF from Monday, 20 May 2019 until Friday, 24 May 2019. Registration is only possible during this period. Registrations after Friday, 24 May 2019 are not possible! Please not that there is no possibility to withdrawal.
